Some stories emerge from the spaces where survival and observation intersect.I grew up inside the systems I write about—childhood trauma, institutional failure, the particular silence that settles over houses and facilities where no one is coming to help. Military service taught me how organizations shape people into instruments and discard what's left. What came after carried its own vocabulary: PTSD, domestic violence survivor, labels that name the wound without explaining what it rearranged.Being autistic means my mind doesn't filter the way it's supposed to. I take everything in—patterns, contradictions, the distance between what institutions say and what they do. That relentlessness found its purpose in the human psyche: our capacity for cruelty and for survival, the machinery we build to protect some people by processing others, and the psychological architecture that lets us look away.A previous manuscript didn't survive. Someone who wanted these stories to stay buried made sure of it. This work exists because I refused to let that be the end.I write from inside the dark, not about it. Not from a safe distance, not as examination—from the places where people are still being forgotten, still being processed, still being broken by systems that operate exactly as designed. Some wounds become windows. Mine became words.
